SEAL COAT
Extending the life of your asphalt
Add life and value to your asphalt by applying a seal coat after the first year, then every three to five years. This is a full surface application that will seal the asphalt for multiple years; it will extend the life of the asphalt, and make it look like new. The process of sealing asphalt is to clean the entire surface until it is free of all debris. Once clean we will apply two coats of asphalt sealer. Typically we use P+ or Tuff Coat asphalt sealer. One coat is applied, then after it has fully dried the second coat is applied. Seal coating should be done when the weather and ground temperature are 70 degrees and higher. The experts at Preferred Paving will advise you as to when the best time for sealing asphalt would be, and when it is ready.

-
Seal coat is an aggregate mixture designed to keep existing asphalt from excessive wear. It will protect the asphalt from weather, ultraviolet, and other natural wear conditions.

Just as a wood deck would need to be re-stained periodically, asphalt also needs to be re-sealed for best results. It will also keep the asphalt aesthetically pleasing.
Seal Coating
Seal coating is a process that helps to provide a barrier for the surface of the asphalt. This barrier stops water, ultraviolet radiation, oil, gas, salt, and other chemicals from getting into the asphalt. The process also helps the asphalt have an attractive surface.
An asphalt seal is usually composed of water, oil, and slate. When the sealcoat is applied, the water evaporates and only leaves behind a dark black sealant. The new surface covers all the asphalt and gives the pavement a new and fresher look. This sealcoat provides your home or business with a positive and professional image.
Seal coating also helps homeowners and business owners save money because it minimizes wear and tear. The seal protects the surface against damage from weather like the rain, sun, and other destructive elements. In fact, once a homeowner or business owner uses the sealed asphalt, he or she conducts repair and maintenance services less often as compared to those who installed plain asphalt. A plain asphalt pavement is also more expensive to maintain as compared to maintaining a sealed one.
